Opsys' ALTOS Ver #1/Gen #1 platform gains NEMA TS2 certification

Driving Innovation for ITS, Smart Cities and Perimeter Security

Holon, Israel 10 December 2024 – Opsys Technologies, the developer of the world’s most advanced pure solid-state LiDAR, has attained NEMA TS2 certification for its industrial sensor, the ALTOS. The ALTOS platform supports multiple applications for safety requirements in industries such as perimeter security, smart cities and intelligent traffic systems (ITS).

Opsys’ unique non-moving parts scanning LiDAR was tested under the following conditions for the NEMA TS2 certification:

  • -34°C (-30°F) to +75°C (+165°F)

  • Humidity up to 80%

  • 0.5G vibration over 5-30Hz frequency range

  • 10G shock test.

The certification ensures that the equipment can perform reliably, no matter the environmental or electrical challenges.

“Achieving NEMA TS2 certification for the ALTOS is a testament to Opsys' dedication to delivering high-performance, reliable solutions,” said Rafi Harel, CEO of Opsys. He continued by saying, “The certification underscores our commitment to quality, reliability, and customer trust. It solidifies Opsys as a leader in the ITS market, enabling us to support smarter, safer, and more efficient transportation systems worldwide.”

Founded in 1926, NEMA is an ANSI-accredited Standards Developing Organization made up of business leaders, electrical experts, engineers, scientists, and technicians. ANSI-accredited means that a standards developing organization's procedures meet the American National Standards Institute's (ANSI) requirements for: openness, balance, consensus, and due process.
